Sanjeeda Sheikh had a fantastic start to the year with two back to back releases. Beginning with her work in Fighter which released in the month of January also starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor.
Followed by her latest project Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The series began streaming on Netflix from May 1 also starring Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Seygal, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha and Taha Shah. It received massive response from the audience and Sanjeeda, who portrayed the role of Waheeda, was particularly praised for her performance.
Besides, the second season of the series was also announced yesterday, elevating the excitement among the audience.
In a recent interview, the actress shared an incident that took place a while back in the nightclub. The actress shared getting harassed by a woman who randomly touched her chest and left without explanation.
She said, “I remember one incident very vaguely but it was by a woman. I was in a nightclub. One woman was passing by and she just touched my br**st and she left. I was kind of taken aback, like what just happened. We hear men smack you on the back and they misbehave, ladkiyaan koi kum nahi hai."
The actress also mentioned that if something is wrong it has nothing to do with the gender of the individual. Its about the person choosing to take on the wrong path.
Sanjeeda further added, “If you are headed on the wrong path, you are going on it regardless. It has nothing to do with men or women, whatever is wrong is wrong. If a woman has wronged you, tell her. Because I think playing the victimhood card is very unattractive.”
