Durgesh Kumar on acting in soft porn films: Did any work that came my way

Durgesh Kumar, who portrays the role of  Banrakas in Panchayat recently talked about his acting career throughout and also shared about working in soft porn films to earn money.

The actor who made his debut with Imtiaz Ali’s directorial ‘Highway’ which starred Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt in the lead, 
 also mentioned about the time he had to battle the depression and how he managed to overcome it.

He said,  “ This is no place to try. This place is filled with crazy people. All the successful people you see today, including Manoj Bajpayee and Pankaj Tripathi, who were my seniors at the National School of Drama or even Nawazuddin Siddiqui, they are all half crazy people, nobody discloses this."

He further added, "This is the kind of struggle and dedication it takes to survive in the industry. It feels embarrassing to go out for random auditions after having worked in films, especially after the casting directors recognise you.”

The actor also recalled getting the role in the first season of ‘Panchayat’ and expressed his gratitude for being a part of the franchise and getting to portray his character which has been appreciated by the audience massively.

The actor said,  “I just had one day's role in Panchayat season1. I shot for just 2.5 hours. I am really thankful to Chandan Kumar and Deepak Kumar Mishra who wrote the 'Banrakas' role. I am glad. I am not Irfan, Nawazuddin, I am an average actor with survival instinct in me."He concluded by saying, "I can't live without acting. I did any work that came my way because I was confident in my abilities. “ 

‘Panchayat’ season 3 was released few days back and has been taking the audience by storm getting immense appreciation. 

It also stars Jeetendra Kumar, Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav.
