India was gripped with political fever for the past few months. General elections were held from April 19 to June 1 in seven phases to elect all 543 members of the Lok Sabha. Yesterday, the votes were counted and the results were declared. The election brought the Bharatiya Janata Party to power for a third straight term.

Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut, who made her political foray this year with BJP, won the Mandi constituency by a margin of 74,755 votes. She was contesting the election against Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh.
Hema Malini
Hema Malini retained her seat in UP’s Mathura constituency. She won against Congress candidate Mukesh Dhangar. It is her third consecutive term from Mathura. She secured it with 5,10064 votes.
Shatrughan Sinha
Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha won against BJP's Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia in West Bengal's Asansol constituency. He reportedly secured the seat with 6,05,645 votes whereas the other candidate received 5,46,081 votes.
Arun Govil
Popularly known for playing the role of Shri Ram in the 1987 Ramayan series, BJP's Arun Govil won the Meerut seat against Samajwadi Party candidate Sunita Verma by a margin of 10,585 votes.
Ravi Kishan
Ravi Kishan won from Gorakhpur constituency defeating Samajwadi Party candidate, actor Kajal Nishad by over one lakh votes. He bagged 585834 votes, while Nishad polled 482308 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Javed Simnani polled over 55,000 votes.
Manoj Tiwari
In the North East Delhi constituency, sitting MP Manoj Tiwari defeated Kanhaiya Kumar by a margin of over 1,00,000 votes to retain the constituency for the third time. Reportedly, Tiwari secured 8,24,451 against Kanhaiya's 6,85,673 votes.
Rachana Banerjee
Bengali actress Rachana Banerjee won her first political campaign in the Hooghly constituency for the All India Trinamool Congress party, defeating BJP's Locket Chatterjee by over 50 thousand votes.
Satabdi Roy
Trinamool Congress's Satabdi Roy won the Birbhum seat by defeating BJP's Debtanu Bhattacharya by 197650 votes. She raked in 717961 votes against Debtanu Bhattacharya who got 520311 votes.
