Dinesh Vijan's universe of horror-comedy is getting a new addition this Friday with Munjya. It is headlined by Mona Singh, Sharvari, Abhay Verma and an ensemble. Aditya Sarpotdar, the director of the classic Marathi film Zombivli, directs this horror-comedy set in Konkan. As the countdown for Munjya begins, the makers have planned a treat for horror enthusiasts across the country.
Maddock Films, owned by Dinesh Vijan, announced midnight screenings of Munjya. To give horror fanatics, the production house is hosting exclusive midnight screenings of the film on Thursday night. This special event will be offered at limited screens in select theatres, creating a thrilling atmosphere for die-hard horror fans.
Dinesh Vijan shared, “We’re very excited for Munjya’s debut and what better time than midnight to meet him in a theatre near you. It’s when he’s at his craziest self.” The details regarding participating theatres and ticketing have been unveiled by Maddock Films on their official handle.
In an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon, director Aditya spoke about Munjya and said, "For me, my hero and my protagonist is Munjya and when I say that, I know that when I'm building the world of the film, I'm setting the world up so that my primary character makes the most of it. He is presented in the best possible way and the world he comes from is so intriguing that most efforts went behind kind of getting that right."
Dismissing the buzz that Malaika will be in Munjya, Aditya said that it is not true. The director said, "So Malaika, whatever you see of her, is doing her Munni Badnaam Hui dance in the phone footage that one of my characters is holding. Beyond that, you will never see her. Malaika is not in the film. She is known to be Munni, but in Munjya, my Munni is different."
