While filmmakers are weaving intriguing tales that rely on bringing out emotions, there are sequels of iconic films lined up. From horror, and thriller to drama, it's an exciting time for Bollywood buffs.
From Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree 2 to Ajay Devgn's Singham Again and Allu Arjun-Rashmika Mandanna's Pushpa 2: The Rule, the next six months of 2024 promise to ride high on entertainment and larger-than-life escapism. Here's looking at some of the highly-anticipated sequels releasing this year.
Stree 2
Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana have reunited for the sequel of their cult classic, Stree. The horror-comedy is directed by Amar Kaushik. The prequel released in 2018. Stree 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on August 31.
Singham Again
Ajay Devgn wears the uniform of Bajirao Singham for the third time in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. The cop film also stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor. Singham Again is tentatively scheduled to release on August 15.
Pushpa 2: The Rule
Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil will take the story of Pushparaj, Srivalli and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat forward in Sukumar's highly-anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule. The first part released in 2021. The sequel will hit silver screens on August 15.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
Kartik Aaryan returns as Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The horror-comedy also stars Vidya Balan and Triptii Dimri. Reports claim that Madhuri Dixit will be seen in the role of a ghost. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, will release on Diwali.
Raid 2
Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh are headlining the sequel of Raid. As IRS officer Amay Patnaik, Ajay will unravel another intriguing case. Rajkumar Gupta directs the sequel which is scheduled to release on November 15.
Dhadak 2
Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri will be seen in the lead in Dhadak 2. The first part introduced Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter to the world of cinema. Dhadak 2 is said to be around casteism in India. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, the romantic drama will release on November 22.
Metro... In Dino
Featuring Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sensharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, Metro... In Dino will release in theatres on November 29. It is directed by Anurag Basu.
Welcome To The Jungle
Welcome To The Jungle stars Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Sayaji Shinde, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, and Vrihi Kodvara. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the comedy film is slated for a theatrical release on December 20.
