Kartik Aaryan on high fees of the actors in industry: One should take a cut; Kabir Khan says ‘it’s a healthy debate’

Kartik Aaryan is set for his upcoming film 'Chandu Champion' which will release on June 14. Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Kabir Khan Films, the film is a biopic of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympics gold medalist. The excitement among the fans has increased ever since the makers released the trailer of the film and the audience can't wait for the film to hit the big screens next week.

Ahead of the release of the film, the actor and director duo recently spoke about the increasing fees of the performers and how it has been affecting the overall outcome of the projects after their release. The topic has been in talks especially over the last few months after the unpredictable faith  of the films at the box office. Whereas some films have depicted commendable performances, some failed to impress the audience, becoming a debacle despite the huge budget of the films, especially including the fact that some actors tend to demand hefty amounts from the producers for their roles.

Kartik said, “There are so many rights of a film when it releases. So you get an ‘x’ amount of money out of it. If your star value and the entire project’s value gives profit to the entire team, I think then the math adds up. If it doesn’t, then you have to, you should take a cut… It’s a healthy discussion”

Kabir added, “It’s a healthy debate and it’s getting a positive response from actors, directors, and producers. The audiences, their viewing patterns changed, their habit of coming to theatres got diminished. So there was this whole debate about that if that’s diminishing, what are the other avenues where we can earn money from?"

Beside 'Chandu Champion', Kartik will also star in Anees Bazmee's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' alongside Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan.
