Taapsee Pannu opens up about her journey to love with husband Mathias Boe: It was not like a love-at-first-sight

It wasn’t love at first sight for actor Taapsee Pannu, who married her long-term boyfriend and badminton player, Mathias Boe, on March 23rd this year. In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan India, Taapsee shared how she took time to decide whether Mathias was the man she wanted to spend her life with, eventually feeling a sudden sense of "security and maturity."

"There was a lot of testing and a lot of me being sure. It was not like a love-at-first-sight situation, for me at least. I took time to test if it’s really practical... the feasibility of the relationship was important for me," Taapsee explained.

The 'Dunki' actor revealed that although she always respected Mathias and was fond of him, falling in love was a gradual process. "Falling in love didn’t happen in a month or instantly. When I met him, I felt like I had met a man. I had dated so many boys before him, and suddenly, I met a guy who didn’t feel like anyone I’d been with before," she said. "There was this sudden sense of security and maturity, which was so evident that I felt like ‘okay, you’ve finally found the man’."

Taapsee, who has a deep admiration for athletes, was particularly impressed by Mathias’s achievements, including his Olympic victory. "I think the fact that he is an athlete and someone who had won at the Olympics for a start... half the job was done there (laughs). I have always been very impressed and in awe of athletes who play for their country and play under extreme pressure without getting affected. I have loads and loads of respect and admiration for them," she added.

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony on March 23rd in Udaipur, attended by close friends and family. Among the few celebrities present were Anurag Kashyap and Kanika Dhillon. Taapsee's 'Thappad' co-actor Pavail Gulati shared a photo from the wedding, which also saw comedian-actor Abhilash Thapiyal in attendance.

On the professional front, Taapsee has an exciting lineup of films including 'Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba', 'Woh Ladki Hai Khaan', and 'Khel Khel Mein'. She was last seen in director Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki', alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
