Maddock Films' has hit the bull's eye once again. The latest film to come out of the banner is Munjya. Aditya Sarpotdar, known for helming popular Marathi films like Zombivli, has directed the horror-comedy embedded in folklore and fantasy. Abhay Verma, Sharvari, Suhas Joshi, Mona Singh, and Sathyaraj are in pivotal roles in the film.
Munjya has put a bright smile on the faces of theatre owners, distributors and producers. The film's first day at the box office proved to be fruitful. According to trade sources, Munjya minted Rs. 4.21 crores nett on its opening day. Maddock had announced a special midnight preview of the horror-comedy on Thursday and it received a thunderous response from the audience.

Golmaal Again (2017)
Rohit Shetty's ensemble cast horror-comedy, Golmaal Again, was received well at the box office. Starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Arshad Warsi, Parineeti Chopra, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Johnny Lever, the film was made on a budget of Rs. 70 crores and it collected around Rs. 311 crores worldwide. It was a successful venture for the filmmaker.
Stree (2018)
Stree's plot was based on the legend Nale Ba ("Come tomorrow") of Karnataka, which was modified to O Stree Kal Aana ("Oh Lady come tomorrow") in the film. Starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi, the horror-comedy was set in Chanderi. Made on a budget of approximately Rs.14 crores, Stree's worldwide gross was Rs.180 crores. It was declared a blockbuster at the box office.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022)
Headlined by Tabu, Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 broke several records at the box office. It was one of the most successful films to release post the COVID-19 pandemic. Shot on a budget of Rs. 70 crores, the horror-comedy minted approximately Rs. 266.88 crores worldwide.
Bhediya (2022)
Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon and Abhishek Banerjee's Bhediya received critical and commercial success. Despite being affected by the humongous Drishyam 2 wave, the monster comedy managed to hold its ground at the box office and earned around Rs. 90 crores. It was made on a budget of Rs. 70 crores.
Kantara (2022)
Kantara, starring Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Kishore and others, released in Kannada originally. It then got versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Speaking of the Hindi version, it was lauded by the audience. The film's worldwide collection was Rs. 407 crores. It was made on a budget of Rs. 16 crores.
