Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan is making headlines for the right reason. Following his father's footsteps in the film industry, he is all set to foray into the cinema world with a diverse lineup of projects. His debut film, Maharaj, is releasing on Netflix on June 14. After completing his education in dramatics, Junaid set his focus on his theatrical pursuits since 2017. While Junaid is a promising face from a prominent Bollywood family, he had to audition for roles.
An industry source revealed that Junaid faced as many as 7 rejections before landing the right opportunity. The source shared, "Junaid auditioned a lot but faced numerous rejections, including from his father's home production Laal Singh Chadda. Despite encountering seven significant rejections, the producer of his upcoming film stumbled upon one of Junaid's previous audition tapes, offering him to audition. However, even this opportunity came with certain conditions."
Speaking of Maharaj, Junaid went through a massive physical transformation for the film. He shed 26 kilos in 2 years to get into the skin of his character. The filming of the movie began in February 2021 and concluded within eight months.
After Maharaj, Junaid will be headlining a romantic film produced by Aamir Khan Productions. It will mark the Hindi debut of renowned South star, Sai Pallavi. The film has been shot majorly in Sapporo in Japan. Junaid has also teamed up with Khushi Kapoor for the remake of Love Today. It is titled Loveyapa. They play a deeply in-love young couple in this quirky love story, stepping into the roles played by Pradeep Ranganathan and Ivana in the 2022 Tamil original. Laal Singh Chaddha director Advait Chandan helms this film.
