Dhanush's 'Captain Miller nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the UK National Film Awards

Tamil actor Dhanush, who gained international acclaim with his role as an assassin in the Russo Brothers' "The Gray Man," is continuing his global streak with his latest film "Captain Miller." The film has been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the prestigious UK National Film Awards, marking a significant achievement for Dhanush and the entire "Captain Miller" team.

'Captain Miller' joins a notable lineup of international films vying for the award, including "You Are Not Alone: Fighting the Wolf Pack" (Spain), "Bhakshak" (India), "The Parades" (Japan), "Red Ollero: Mabuhay is a Lie" (Philippines), "Sixty Minutes" (Germany), and "The Heartbreak Agency" (Germany). This nomination places 'Captain Miller' in the esteemed company and raises anticipation about whether it will clinch the award.

Directed by Arun Matheswaran, 'Captain Miller' features a stellar cast including Dhanush, Sundeep Kishan, Priyanka Mohan, Nivedhithaa Sathish, and Edward Sonnenblick. Set in the pre-Independence era, the period drama delves into a crucial chapter of India's history. The narrative centers on a militant who rebels against British colonial rule to protect and support his village, highlighting themes of resistance and solidarity.

The film’s music, composed by GV Prakash Kumar, significantly enhances its impact. Kumar’s powerful background score provides emotional depth, complementing the film’s dramatic moments.

Released on January 12 this year, 'Captain Miller' received positive reviews from critics. With a budget of Rs 50 crore, the film was a box-office success, earning more than Rs 100 crore. It is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
