Alia Bhatt joined hands with filmmaker Karan Johar for her next film titled Jigra which was announced last year. Directed by Vasan Bala the film is a story of courage, passion, and determination. The latest update surrounding the development of the film is its release date. Jigra starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina is set to arrive in cinemas on 11th October 2024. The 31-year-old actress is not only leading the project but also bankrolled along with Karan Johar. The film touted to be an action-genre movie is co-produced by Eternal Sunshine Production and Dharma Production.
Jigra revolves around the love of a sister for her brother and she could do anything to protect him. From debuting in Karan Johar’s film Student of The Year, Alia Bhatt had a long journey in the industry to now producing a film with the ace filmmaker. The actioner is helmed by Vasan Bala fame of Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and Monica O My Darling.
Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar share a family relationship and both have now joined hands together to produce a film. This action movie marks the second project under Alia Bhatt’s home production Eternal Sunshine Production. The first film was Darlings also starring Vijay Verma and Shefali Shah. Co-produced by Red Chillies Entertainment Darlings was highly appreciated for its storyline and impeccable acting. While the dark comedy film was released on Netflix, Jigra would be Alia Bhatt’s produced first film to hit theaters.
This decision is amicable and supported by Alia’s friendship with Jr. NTR, formed during their collaboration on RRR. Karan Johar, a common factor in both projects, plays a significant role in bringing these films together. Alia Bhatt was last seen in KJo’s directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. The family entertainer received positive reviews from audiences and critics alike. Post the success of Darling it is now awaited to see how Jigra performs at the box office when it will arrive in cinemas on October 11, 2024.
