The highly anticipated film ‘Singham Again’, directed by Rohit Shetty and starring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, and Ranveer Singh, has officially moved its release date to Diwali 2024. This announcement comes following recent hints by Ajay Devgn during the trailer launch of ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ on June 13th, where he suggested a potential delay.
On June 14, the film’s team made the postponement official. Ajay Devgn, along with other cast members, shared a new poster on Instagram featuring the star-studded lineup including Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff. The poster’s tagline, “Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe Roaring This Diwali 2024,” accompanied by the caption, “#SinghamAgain roaring this Diwali 2024,” confirmed the new release window.
Initially slated for an Independence Day release on August 15, the shift to Diwali, which falls on October 29, allows Singham Again to avoid clashes with other big releases. The Independence Day slot is now occupied by ‘Pushpa 2’ starring Allu Arjun, John Abraham and Sharvari’s ‘Vedaa’, and ‘Khel Khel Mein’ featuring Akshay Kumar and Taapsee Pannu. However, the new Diwali date means Singham Again will compete directly with Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’.
During the June 13 event, Ajay Devgn hinted at the change, citing pending work on the film. He emphasized that the team is not rushing to ensure the highest quality in their work. “A decision on the release date will be taken as soon as we are ready,” Devgn stated.
Singham Again marks the fifth installment in Rohit Shetty’s acclaimed cop universe, following ‘Singham’, ’Singham Returns’, ‘Simmba’, and ‘Sooryavanshi’. With the promotional assets already generating significant buzz, the move to Diwali is expected to heighten anticipation further, promising an action-packed festive season for fans.
