Sara Ali Khan has begin the year with back to back releases. First Netflix’s project ‘Murder Mubarak’, followed by the release of ‘Ae Watan Mere’ on Prime Video and is now shooting for her upcoming film alongside Aditya Kapur titled ‘Metro in Dino’ which is a sequel to the previous film. Directed by Anurag Basu, the shooting for is is currently on and it is slated to release this year.
In a recent interview, Sara was asked to choose a perfect title to describe her family which has been dominating the film industry over the years. Her father Saif Ali Khan, mother Amrita Singh and even her grandparents and stepmother Kareena Kapoor Khan, all have been among the A- listers of the industry so far. Responding to the same, the actress took the name of Karan Johar’s 2001 film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’.She said, "To be honest, nothing beats Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.”
For the unversed, the film featured Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead. It was a successful venture and went on to receive massive response from the audience and is remembered by the fans till date. Not just for the commendable performances by the actors and gripping storyline but also the songs of the project were much lauded.
Sara’s ‘Murder Mubarak’ also starred Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead. It followed a murder mystery with full of twists. It released on March 15 and is now streaming on the platform. On the other side, her ‘Ae Watan Mere’ which released on March 21 was a biopic and featured the actress in the role of Usha. The film also starred Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Verma. Sara received much praise for the performance in both the ventures.
