Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma and Mona Singh starrer ‘Munjya’ has created a massive buzz ever since the initial announcement of the film was out. After the release, the horror-comedy has been making into the headlines with its commendable performance.
And the box office numbers are a straight proof for the same. After having commendable first weekend, the film is inching towards crossing half century soon. The total collection of ‘Munjya’ for now stands at Rs 47 crore and there has been a significant rise in the day to day collection compared over the last week. The second Friday collection has made to Rs 3.75 crore and there has been 80 percent jump in numbers on second Saturday. The film is expected to cross Rs 50 crore by today.
Surrounded about Abhay’s character who gets followed by the tree spirit Munjya, the film released on June 7. As the story proceeds, Abhay’s character discovers several mysteries that revolve around his family and have a lot of connection with his past. Alongside, he is also shy of expressing his love to his childhood friend Bella( portrayed by Sharvari) which ultimately becomes the target of Munjya. It is inspired by the Marathi folklore and has been produced by Maddock Films and is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who also made his Hindi directorial debut with it. The makers also revealed in earlier interviews about how the character of Munjya was created and shared that it took one and a half year to bring the character to the screen. The process involved shooting the scenes by imagining the presence of him. Followed by the acrobat, who would perform stunts and concluding by having another person giving the expressions. Later, all three components were placed together at the editing table.
Besides, the actress will next appear in ‘Vedaa’ where she will star alongside John Abraham. Later she will also feature in YRF spy universe upcoming film alongside Alia Bhatt. The film is yet to get a title and the actress has been sharing about the excitement of being a part of it in her recent interviews.
