Taha Shah Badussha defends Heeramandi co-star Sharmin Segal: Have seen her put best foot forward

Taha Shah Badussha has been lauded for his performance in the latest directorial by Sanjay Leela Bhansali ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. The actor who has been a part of the industry for more than a decade also expressed in certain interviews how he is now getting the recognition he has been waiting for all these years.

However, not everyone from the series got warm response from the audience and one of them has been the niece of Sanjay, Sharmin Segal. The actress has been trolled for her performance by various users on social media and has been described as the weakest actress in the series. There have been several posts made and the users even went on to mimic her dialogues from the scenes claiming that she could have been more expressive in the entire series but failed to do so.
In a recent interview, the actor went on to defend the performance of Sharmin saying that it had a logical reason and made complete sense.

He said,  "They (audience) have picked on her, and whoever I have spoken to, I have made it a point to say that...We are nobody to talk about the audience, but I can talk about people who are close to me, like my mom and dad. They have come up to me and shared logical explanations as to how her performance was,  and it made complete sense." Further adding, "I have seen her put her best foot forward."

Directed by Sanjay, the series also starred Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha and Sanjeeda Sheik in the lead. It released on May 1 and is streaming on Netflix. The makers also recently announced the second season of the series which will go on floors soon. The fans have been excited ever since to witness the second sequel of it. The first part was set in  pre-independent India and the next is set to portray the courtesans moving to Mumbai to pursue their careers.
