Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has been so far one of the most anticipated films of the ‘Welcome’ franchise and audience have been excited for the release of the project ever since the makers announced the upcoming instalment.
Also starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Lara Dutta. Ahmed Khan’s directorial was slated to have its release in the month of December this year. However, the latest reports suggest a change in the same. The reports mention that there is a significant portion of the film that is to be worked upon despite wrapping up its first schedule. Also, the VFX portion is much pending and will take certain amount of time to be completed.
As per the source mention in one of the entertainment websites, it has been quoted, “Welcome... has been mounted on a grand scale, with the first schedule wrapping up recently in May. It was a lengthy shoot in Aarey, Maharashtra, with the entire star cast present. However, this was just the first of several schedules planned.”
Further adding, “Additionally, significant VFX work will be required after principal photography concludes. Given these factors, a December 20 release seems unlikely."
Now, the film is to be reportedly released during the Christmas of next year. The official confirmation by the makers is awaited. The previous sequels were released in 2007 and 2015 and have been well received by the audience. Whereas Anees Bazmee, who is currently shooting his upcoming film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ with Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan helmed the previous instalments, this time Ahmed will take upon director’s chair.
