Salman Khan death threat case: Mumbai Police arrests Youtuber from Rajasthan

Mumbai Police has found a significant key in Salman Khan’s death threat case. The prominent Bollywood actor has received death threats from varied gang groups even guns were fired at his residence in April. The police have been on their toes to investigate the case and recently they have made a noteworthy arrest. A YouTuber named Banwarilal Laturlal Gujar, from Bundi Rajasthan, has been taken in remand after his recent video, claiming his association with the Goldy gang and extending death threats for Bhaajaan.

The 25-year-old boy took to his YouTube channel ‘Are Choddo Yaar’ to share the video which later came to the attention of the Police. The Mumbai Crime Branch took immediate action to arrest him and presented him before a city court on Sunday. The court remanded him in police custody until June 18. He was arrested on charges of criminal intimidation in his YouTube video threatening to kill Salman Khan. The boy is said to be linked with gangsters Lawrence Bhisnoi and Gody Brar.

The video has Banwarilal saying, “Ram Ram mere sabhi Bhaiyo (Ram Ram all my brothers)... Brothers, we are all brothers now, Goldy is my brother, Nitin, Vivek, Rohit, and Jitin, they all are here and there are many more brothers. Our intention was clear, what we want and it was shared but he is not listening. His ego gets hurt. He has an attitude and he has an ego. He considers himself Dabangg King Khan.”

The video continued, “We will not tell him what is Khan and who is a fanatic Hindutva. Okay, there is no issue, we all brothers are available here... Today we have laid a trap, and we know what and where we have to do and what not to do, and what to do with whom... Whoever commits a mistake will pay the price. It does not affect us... We are searching for actor Salman Khan, and he is coming in the same line. Whether he has Y plus security or Z plus. But we have announced, meaning if we have said it, we will do it. Whoever will collide with us, we will finish them. Jai Hind Jai Bharat.”

Following the incident depicted in the video, the South Cyber police filed charges under sections 506(2) (criminal intimidation), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with section 66(d) (cheating by personation using computer resource) of the Information Technology (IT) Act. The case was later handed over to the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) for further investigation.
