‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ release date pushed to December: "His rule will be phenomenal"

The highly anticipated sequel ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ starring Allu Arjun, will now hit theaters worldwide on December 6th. Directed by Sukumar, this film is a follow-up to the 2021 blockbuster "Pushpa: The Rise."

The new release date was announced by the production banner Mythri Movie Makers on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday evening. Originally slated for an August 15th release, the studio explained that the postponement is to ensure the highest quality.

"We intend to give you the best. The wait increases for a memorable experience on the big screens. #Pushpa2TheRule Grand release worldwide on 6th DECEMBER 2024. His rule will be phenomenal. His rule will be unprecedented," the studio posted along with a brand new poster.

Mythri Movie Makers released a statement emphasizing their commitment to delivering excellence. "Following the immense success of Pushpa: The Rise, our responsibility to deliver excellence has increased significantly. We have been tirelessly working to complete the movie and release it on time," the statement read. However, due to the remaining shoot and subsequent post-production work, they decided to postpone the release.

The decision, according to the studio, was made in the best interests of the "film, the audience, and all stakeholders." They stressed the importance of providing a memorable big-screen experience without compromising on quality.

So far, the studio has released a teaser and two songs, "Pushpa Pushpa" and "Sooseki," which have received overwhelming responses across all languages. "We promise to deliver a film that you will truly love," the statement added. The studio thanked audiences and partners worldwide for their unwavering support, along with the media and film industries.

‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ will feature Rashmika Mandanna and continue the story of Allu Arjun's character, who rises in the red sandalwood smuggling syndicate in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh. The first film set up a clash between Arjun's titular character and Fahadh Faasil's inspector Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
