Sonakshi Sinha is reportedly set to marry her longtime beau, Zaheer Iqbal, on June 23^rd, marking a significant milestone in her personal life. Meanwhile, on the professional front, her long-awaited horror-comedy, ‘Kakuda,’ is set to debut on the OTT platform Zee 5.

Director Aditya Sarpotdar, currently riding high on the success of his horror-comedy ‘Munjya,’ recently announced the release update for ‘Kakuda.’ Starring Riteish Deshmukh, Sonakshi Sinha, and Saqib Saleem, the film will premiere directly on Zee 5, marking the platform's entry into the horror-comedy genre.

Produced by RSVP, ‘Kakuda’ unfolds in the village of Ratodi in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district, where a longstanding curse affects the residents. Each house in the village has two similar-looking doors, one normal and the other slightly smaller. As part of a peculiar ritual, the smaller door must be opened every Tuesday at 7:15 PM sharp. Failure to do so results in the man of the house facing the wrath of Kakuda. The film promises to unravel the mystery of who Kakuda is, why he targets only men, and how the curse might be broken.

Aditya Sarpotdar expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “I am a fan of the horror-comedy genre and find it incredibly fascinating to explore the delicate balance between fear and laughter. It’s a challenging task to make viewers simultaneously scared and amused, but with ‘Kakuda,’ I am confident that we have hit the right chord yet again.”

Producer Ronnie Screwvala initially announced ‘Kakuda’ on July 20^th, 2021. The film was shot across various locations in Gujarat and wrapped up on September 17^th, 2021. After nearly three years, the film is finally set for release, and fans are eagerly anticipating its debut on Zee 5.
