Karan Johar's Koffee with Karan is undoubtedly one of the most loved chat shows and its last season 8 concluded earlier this year. The last season was star studded and featured several unexpected duos including Zeenat Aman and Neetu Kapoor. Several episodes have got an immense amount of response and fans are eager for the upcoming season 9. However, in a recent interview, the filmmaker shared that he is skipping this year and will bring the show next year. 

Karan also admitted that the rapid fire of the latest season was the most ‘boring’ out of all the previous seasons. He said, "In the history of Koffee with Karan, it was the most boring rapid fire. It was so boring that I was like snooze alert. I'm like why am I even doing this? You're not giving me questions. Should we just drop the rapid fire? Main hi hamper ghar le jaata hoon because no one really deserves to win it"

Further adding he said, "Let's change the world of Koffee with Karan. Let season 9 be all the fun, all the chattiness, and all the candour but let's do it in a way that is not putting the celebrities in an awkward, touchy space. People are scared to open up, they don't say anything the way they used to. You can't ask them which is an overrated film or an overrated performance. Nobody is going to give it to you." He concluded, "So I took 2024 off. It's going to be back in 2025. Somewhere around the second half of 2025, we want to come back with a new syntax.”

Meanwhile his latest produced project ‘Kill’ is set to hit the big screens on July 5. He is also producing Alia Bhat’s upcoming film ‘Jigra’ which is set to release in September.
