Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna are set to headline the upcoming horror comedy ‘Vampires of Vijay Nagar,’ directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan. Vijan, known for his successful ventures in the horror-comedy genre, is expanding his unique cinematic universe with this new film.
Dinesh Vijan has established a significant presence in the horror-comedy genre with hits like ‘Stree,’ ‘Bhediya’, and ‘Munjya’. His latest project, "Vampires of Vijay Nagar," reunites him with Aditya Sarpotdar, the director of ‘Munjya,’ promising to bring a fresh and exciting narrative to the genre.
According to PinkVilla, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna will lead the film. Khurrana, who previously worked with Vijan on Bala, shares a strong creative bond with the producer. “Ayushmann Khurrana and Dinesh Vijan have been discussing 'Vampires of Vijay Nagar' for a while now and are all set to take the film on floors by the end of this year,” revealed a source close to the development.
The source also noted that both Khurrana and Mandanna have unique arcs in the film that will surprise audiences, marking their first collaboration and adding to the anticipation. “The script is presently in the writing stage and will soon get into the pre-production stage,” the source added.
Before filming ‘Vampires of Vijay Nagar’ in November, both stars have busy schedules. Khurrana is wrapping up an untitled spy comedy produced by Karan Johar and will commence shooting for ‘Border 2’ directed by Anurag Singh. Meanwhile, Mandanna is finishing her work on ‘Pushpa 2’ with Allu Arjun and ‘Sikandar’ with Salman Khan.
‘Vampires of Vijay Nagar’ is set to be another exciting addition to Vijan's horror-comedy universe, following the release of ‘Stree 2’ on August 15th.
