Akansha Ranjan recalls auditioning for Kiara Advani’s role in Kabir Singh: Knew this role was mine

 

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy titled Kabir Singh has been one of very successful projects so far. The film starred Kiara Advani and Shahid Kapoor and went on to garner box office numbers like no other film. Although there were mixed reviews about the project, it’s popularity kept growing also bringing many more projects for Kiara, who debuted a few years back before its release. However, she wasn’t the first choice for the role in the film. Akansha Ranjan recently recalled auditioning for the role which later went to Kiara.

Akansha also mentioned about auditioning for Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 which went to Ananya Panday and became her debut project. The film also starred Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria and was a second instalment of SOTY which was earlier released in 2012 starring Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. 

She said, "Who wouldn't want a launch like that!" Further adding, "Those two were so heartbreaking." She also revealed that she did watch the original film Arjun Reddy and wanted to get the role. “I knew this role was mine. And sometimes you just know it in your bones. I knew this was the one. And it didn't happen. was heartbroken.”

However, the actress also admitted that the entire process of auditioning helps her a lot and she is glad she has been giving auditions as she always got some takeaways from them. The actress also said that she has friends who haven’t been through auditions but she isn’t jealous of the same.
 She said, "That also helps me as a person, I am very self-aware.” She concluded, "But auditions helped me in my career.”
