Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon recently captivated audiences with their performances in Rajesh A Krishnan’s ‘Crew’. The heist comedy not only garnered rave reviews but also achieved massive box office success.
Bollywood celebrities took to social media to praise the film, and now Kareena's mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore, has joined the chorus of admirers. During an interview with Kapil Sibal on his YouTube channel, ‘Dil Se Kapil Sibal’, the veteran actress expressed her delight, calling the film "absurd beyond belief" and a "full-on entertainer."
Tagore elaborated on the film, stating, "It is absurd, of course, beyond belief but there are three women pulling off this adventure." She highlighted the plot, mentioning scenes where one-character lands a plane and other break into a safe, showcasing the trio's thrilling escapades. Praising the chemistry between Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Sanon, she noted, "The camaraderie between the three heroines is excellent because they broke the notion that a woman is a woman’s worst enemy."
The success of ‘Crew’, Tagore believes, has significant implications for the industry. "Three women are doing all kinds of fantastic things and it has done well at the box office. This will encourage a lot of filmmakers to do women-centric films," she said.
Sara Ali Khan, Sharmila Tagore’s granddaughter, has often spoken about her close relationship with her "Amma." In an interview with ‘Filmfare’, Sara shared that she turns to her grandmother in challenging times and values the connection to her traditional roots. Tagore also provides Sara with modern advice on various aspects of life, making her a cherished mentor.
On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan is set to appear in ‘Singham Again’, while Sara Ali Khan is busy with ‘Metro In Dino’.
