Kamal Haasan reveals Shah Rukh Khan worked in Hey Ram for free

Kamal Haasan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Hindustani 2 also known as Indian 2. The trailer of the much-awaited film dropped yesterday and during the event megastar praised Shah Rukh Khan. He also revealed that SRK worked in his film Hey Ram for free playing Amjad Ali Khan friend of Saket. The actor-director spoke of his friendship with King Khan saying he doesn’t see him as a superstar because someone at that position wouldn’t work for free. He addressed the magnanimity and generosity of the Badshah of Bollywood. For the unversed Hey Ram showcased controversial events of Indian history. 

During the media interaction at the Indian 2 trail launch, Kamal Haasan said, "Let me talk on behalf of Mr SRK because I am sure that he'll allow me to do that. When we worked together, we were all just people. I don't see a superstar; he doesn't see a super director. We are friends. As a matter of fact, Shah Rukh Saab made that film (Hey Ram) for free. What more do you need?" He further added, "That's not something a superstar would do. That takes a true fan of cinema, a connoisseur of art and a good actor. I'm incredibly grateful to him." Reflecting upon the title "superstar", he said, "We don't see ourselves that way. You, the audience, give us these titles, and we shyly accept them."

Talking about Hindustani 2, the film is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language vigilante action film and a sequel to the 1996 film Indian. Earlier named Indian 2 will feature Kamal Haasan reprising his role of Senapathi alongside Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh and Kajal Aggarwal. The film is written and directed by S Shankar and produced by Lyca Production and Red Giant Movies.
