Richa Chadha on resuming work post pregnancy, says "Can handle both duties"

Richa Chadha is set to embrace motherhood soon and fans are eagerly waiting for the actress to welcome her first child with husband Ali Fazal. Amidst the excitement, the recent reports suggest that the actress has signed for a project and will resume shooting from the month of October after welcoming her first child. Not much details are out about the project but as per the reports, it will be written by Amitosh Nagpal.

The reports also mentioned that the actress was impressed by the script of the film and gave it a nod. As per the source in one of the entertainment websites, the pre-production is set to occur in the month of August and shooting will begin in October.

The actress has also mentioned about taking maternity break earlier and highlighted that she will master both the duties. She said,  “While I can’t speak for all women, because it depoends on each individual what their journey is like, I am determined to get back to work as soon as possible, and not take a long break, as i have pending commitments.” Further adding, "I take immense inspiration from my own mother, who managed both roles with grace and efficiency. I believe I can handle both duties effectively as well, becasue it depends on the kind of support system you have around you and how hands-on your partner is. In my case, I feel blessed to have both those things figured out. I also don't think it is out of the ordinary. I have seen the badass women of Mumbai take local trains well into their 9th month, heading to work, looking oerfectly groomed iwth their gajras intact. I am very inspired by the average Indian woman and don't want this to be treated as a medical condition, it is not. It is a natural part of life".

Richa most recently appeared in ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the series also featured Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh. Hailed as one of the biggest projects of the year, the series got mixed reviews from the audience but Richa’s portrayal of her character has received much praise despite her limited screen time in the project. The actress played Lajjo and has also shared in earlier interviews how the character was special for her. She also revealed that she was offered to choose if she would want to portray some other character but decided that Lajjo was someone whom she really wanted to portray on screen. The story revolves around the pre independent India and portrayed the actresses as courtesans. The name of the project has been inspired by the red light area of Lahore. The filmmaker earlier expressed that the  project has been on cards for years and he has considered several names to be portraying the characters. However, it was only recently that he could finally bring the project to the audience.

Besides, there have also been the reports in the last few days mentioning that Ali will also take a break from his work during the birth of the child.
