Chandu Champion writer Sumit Arora praises Kartik Aaryan’s dedication, says “he was hungry for this role”

Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion released on June 14 and has been garnering massive response from all over ever since the first day. Based on the story of India’s first Paralympic gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar, the film brings the chronicles of his life in front of the audience narrating his journey. Kartik, who portrays his role in the film, has been getting much praise for his performance as well. Now, the writer of the film Sumit Arora, also spoke about working with the actor and referred to it as an ‘amazing experience’. He also added that Kartik is a very dedicated actor and he gave his best for the role. Also adding that it was the first time the actor was portraying the role of this sort which added to the challenges of his character.

Sumit said,   "Working with him was an amazing experience. He has never done a role like this. People associate him with someone who does comedy but he stepped into an unchartered territory." Further adding, "I think he was really hungry
for this role and wanted to do something different. He has proved himself beyond doubt and delivered a performance of a lifetime through this film." The writer also mentioned that it was challenging for him as well to write a biopic as it’s not a fiction which is comparatively easier to draft.

Earlier during the trailer launch of the film, the makers also spoke about Kartik’s preparation and revealed that he had to go through intense training to bring his physique up to the mark. He also followed a strict diet for the same,  which was confirmed by his trainer in one of the interviews.
Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘Chandu Champion’ has been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala through his banner Nadiadwala Grandsons alongside the filmmaker. Kartik will next star in Anees Bazmee’s directorial ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ which will also feature Triptii Dimri and  Vidya Balan in the lead. It is the third instalment of the franchise and the shooting for the same is currently in the process.
