Suriya's 'Kanguva' set for Dussehra 2024 release, clashes with Rajinikanth’s 'Vettaiyan'

The highly anticipated period thriller Kanguva, starring Suriya, has finally announced its official release date. The film, which has already generated significant buzz with its riveting posters and power-packed teaser, is set to hit screens on October 10th. This release will coincide with the launch of Rajinikanth’s action thriller Vettaiyan, setting the stage for an epic box-office clash during the Dussehra festival.

The makers of Kanguva took to Instagram to share a fiery poster of Suriya standing triumphantly atop a mountain of corpses, sword in hand. The caption read, “Ready yourselves to welcome a Warrior King. Our Kanguva is set to conquer your hearts and screens from October 10th.”

Fans of Suriya quickly flooded the comments section with excitement. One user wrote, “My man on fire. Finally fixed Sambavam on 10th.” Another commented, “Have a Greatest of All Time Success. Best wishes to Blockbuster and collect 1000 crores and rip off the box office.”

This impending clash between Kanguva and Vettaiyan mirrors a similar situation in 2021, when Suriya’s Jai Bhim was released on November 2nd, and Rajinikanth's Annaatthe followed on November 4th.

Kanguva, produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, is written and directed by Siruthai Siva. The film features an impressive cast including Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, and KS Ravikumar. Notably, Bobby Deol and Disha Patani will make their Tamil film debuts alongside Suriya in this film.

The technical crew includes Nishadh Yusuf overseeing editing, Vetri Palanisamy handling cinematography, and Devi Sri Prasad composing the music. As the release date approaches, excitement builds for what promises to be a thrilling showdown at the box office.
