Jibraan Khan has returned to acting with the latest release ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ after his prominent child role in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ where he starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Kajol. The actor has been getting a positive response from the audience for his performance in the latest film but did share that he has auditioned for the role of Tiger Shroff in ‘SOTY 2’ in one of the interviews.
Jibraan explained that after having starred as a child actor he also went on to feature in some advertisements. Following he took a sabbatical and wasn’t involved in acting. Over the last few years he has been trying to make his comeback but was searching for the project which would be a perfect launch for him and he found it in ‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ which also stars Pashmina Roshan, Rohit Saraf and Naila Grewal. The actor also mentioned that he never stepped away from giving the auditions.
He said, “Since past 5-6 years. I will be honest that it hasn’t been an easy journey for me. I had to find something right to mark my debut. I knew that I won’t be a drop in the ocean. I had to be prepared as a mainstream actor also, be it my physicality or my acting skills. One cannot sit back and expect work to come to you, it didn’t come to me.” He added, “I have never shied away from asking for an audition. I did audition for Student of The Year 2 but it didn’t work out as I looked younger than Tiger Shroff. IVR was destined for me, I was born to play Sahir.”
‘Ishq Vishk Rebound’ released last week and is a follow up of 2003’s romantic comedy ‘Ishq Vishk’ which starred Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao in the lead.
