Kamal Haasan is gearing up for the release of the much-awaited upcoming movie titled Hindustani 2. The megastar will be seen reprising his role of Senapthi from the 1996 film Indian. The actor shares a camaraderie with megastar Rajinikanth and their presence in Indian cinema is significant. The audience would go crazy if both megastars collaborated for a movie now and on the same Thug Life actor has dropped major updates. 

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Haasan was questioned about his possible collaboration with Rajinikanth. He replied, “We talk about that every 10 years. When I refurbished my office and made it into a three-story building, I remember the scene because, in the same streets, I had Rajini pillion riding in my motorcycle and talking about our future. Cut to 40 years later, we are standing on the 4th floor of a building which was not there back then and he said we should do a movie at least now. I said Raaj Kamal is always ready and that’s the last discussion we had about making a movie together.”

He further added, “The thing is we shouldn’t think about our remuneration nor our status in the film. We must just go ahead and take that ride like we did 50 years ago, back on that motorcycle. Then you will enjoy the film otherwise only we will enjoy the film.”

Hindustani 2 also known as Indian 2 is a sequel to the 1996 released film Indian after 27 years bringing the return of Kamal Haasan as vigilante. The political thriller is directed by S Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions. The film is slated to hit big screens worldwide on July 12, 2024.

On the work front, Kamal Haasan's latest and recent film is a sci-fi dystopian film Kalki 2898 AD also starring, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan. In Nag Ashwin's directorial the actor played the role of Supreme, a menacing totalitarian leader of the world. He has an exciting lineup of projects, including Thug Life, KH 237, Vikram 2, and Indian 3, among others.
