Samantha Ruth Prabhu who was a popular household name down in the South became a pan-India after her astonishing performance in the Hindi web series The Family Man. She also became an overnight sensation for her special song O Antana in Pushpa: The Rise. The south diva who is hailed for her beauty and fitness, recently addressed the significance of healthy eating in her podcast, Take20. As soon as the episode was aired online an internet user was quick to point out her endorsement of a beverage brand in the past. The person compared her recent talk on healthy eating to previous endorsement of unhealthy food.
This comment seemingly affected Samantha extremely. She didn’t stay quiet and accepted endorsing unhealthy food brands calling it her mistake. The Khushi actor said, “I have made mistakes in the past when I did not know any better, but I have stopped accepting many endorsements. I believe in practicing what I preach. Given how much I have learned, it is hard to now unsee things that I might have not been aware of earlier. Whether it is my choice of food or brands, my entire ethos is now focused on a healthy life”
For the unversed, Samantha was diagnosed with myositis—a rare autoimmune condition that results in inflammation of muscles. Last year she also took 6 months break from work to focus on her health. She further mentioned, “While my choices may seem less than ideal to most, since brands do have a commercial impact on us, I am working towards ensuring that I now align with only those brands that are equally committed to life and well-being. I do my research and try to use the products myself before I endorse them."
On the work front, Samantha Ruth Prabhu's most recent appearance was in the 2023 film Kushi, where she starred opposite Vijay Deverakonda. She will be next seen in the Amazon Prime series Citadel also featuring Varun Dhawan. The Hindi version of the espionage thriller is created by The Family Man creator Raj & DK.
