Actor couple Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child, due this July. In a recent interview with HT City, the couple shared insights into their preparations and plans for balancing parenthood with their professional lives.

Richa Chadha, who is in the final stages of her pregnancy, expressed her excitement and readiness for this new chapter. Known for her recent role as Lajjo in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s "Heeramandi," the actress spoke about their approach to raising their child. She emphasized the importance of a free upbringing, mirroring the lack of restrictions she and Ali experienced in their childhoods. “We will surely try to inculcate the spirit of curiosity in the child,” Richa said.

Despite her pregnancy, Richa is not stepping away from her professional commitments. She continues to focus on the couple’s production house, using this time to scout new talent and review scripts. Their production company is set to bankroll several projects this year, including "Girls Will Be Girls," "Papita," "Pinky Promise," and the adult animation "Doggie Stylez."

Richa also revealed her post-pregnancy plans, mentioning that her next project, a romantic comedy with over 15 songs, will begin filming later this year or in early 2025. The production aims to capture the beautiful autumn scenery in Himachal Pradesh, with shooting scheduled to start in October.

Meanwhile, Ali Fazal is equally committed to their new journey into parenthood. He plans to take a month-long paternity leave to fully embrace his new role as a father.

Richa Chadha’s enthusiasm for storytelling remains strong, as she continues to engage with new projects and creative visions even while away from the film sets. “While I’m away from shooting, I’m not away from stories,” she confessed.
