Son of Sardaar 2: Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt join hands for the sequel of the action comedy

Ajay Devgn is returning to the sequel of Son of Sardaar almost after 12 years. The 2012 released comedy action entertained the audience and has now sparked excitement by announcing a second installment. Son of Sardaar 2 raised curiosity around the cast claiming Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha both refrain from reprising their roles. However, as per fresh update, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt have joined hands to collaborate again on the sequel of the movie.

Son of Sardaar, 2012, showcased the rivalry between Jassi (played by Ajay) and Ballu (played by Sanjay). After much speculation, both are set to lock horns once again in Son of Sardaar 2. While Sonakshi, opts out of the second part, Mrunal Thakur is set to join the cast. The film is reported to go on floors soon in Scotland. According to Mid-day Sanjay Dutt has reportedly agreed to star in Son of Sardaar 2. However, the sequel will feature a completely original storyline rather than continuing from the original film.

A source close to the development revealed, “The sequel is a fresh story. It won't pick up where the original film left off.” The source also maintained that it's likely that the actors will keep their character names in the sequel: Ajay Devgn as Jaswinder "Jassi" Singh Randhawa and Sanjay Dutt as Balwinder "Billu" Singh Sandhu. As per the source, this latest update may leave fans wondering about story and roles. While keeping some elements or characters from the original the film could offer a fresh perspective while still retaining the essence that fans enjoyed in the first film.

Talking about the character dynamics of the two leads, the source said, “Their on-screen relationship was a hilarious rivalry in Son of Sardaar. This time, however, their rivalry will be much more intense, with Sanjay's character leaning towards the antagonist side. Despite their on-screen conflict, Ajay and Sanjay are close friends in real life. Ajay specifically ensured that Sanjay has a fantastic role in the second part.”
