Mirzapur Season 3 to premiere on Amazon Prime on July 5th: Cast, Directors, and Special appearances revealed

The highly anticipated third season of the action crime thriller series Mirzapur will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on July 5th. Known for its gripping narrative and intense performances, Mirzapur has amassed a massive fan following eagerly awaiting the new season.

Mirzapur Season 3 features an ensemble cast, including Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Varma, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Isha Talwar, and others. Returning cast members include Anjum Sharma, Manu Rishi Chadha, Sheeba Chaddha, Rajesh Tailang, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, and Meghna Malik. While Divyenndu's character Munna Bhaiya will be missed, Pankaj Tripathi's Kaleen Bhaiya makes a much-anticipated return.

Ali Fazal will reprise his role as Guddu Pandit, Rasika Dugal returns as Beena Tripathi, and Shweta Tripathi Sharma will be seen again as Gajagamini Gupta, aka Golu.

Gurmmeet Singh is back in the director's chair for Season 3, co-directing with Anand Iyer. Singh previously directed the first and second seasons alongside Mihir Desai in the latter. The series' creators, Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna, return, with executive producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar continuing their involvement.

Mirzapur Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes, maintaining the format of the second season. The series' official Instagram handle announced the release date on June 11, generating significant buzz among fans.

The upcoming season will also feature a cameo by Jitendra Kumar of Panchayat fame, who will portray Sachiv Ji in two episodes. His character will be involved in the administrative aspects surrounding Kaleen Bhaiya's storyline.

In 2021, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the makers of Mirzapur, Amazon Prime Video, and Excel Entertainment over a petition claiming the series tarnished the historical and cultural image of Mirzapur. However, in 2022, the court dismissed the case, with Justice D.Y. Chandrachud stating that the series is "all fiction" and the court "can't interfere" with it. The bench headed by Chief Justice of India UU Lalit also ruled that pre-censorship is impermissible.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the new season, set to bring more high-concept comedy and action. Ali Fazal, in a recent interview with ANI, accidentally confirmed Jitendra Kumar's role, adding to the excitement.

Mirzapur Season 3 promises to be another thrilling installment, continuing the legacy of one of India's most beloved series.
