The release of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, which was initially slated to hit theaters on July 5th, has been postponed. The decision comes in light of the overwhelming success of Kalki 2898 AD at the box office.
The makers of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha have officially confirmed the film's new release date. In a statement, they noted, "On the request of the exhibitors and distribution fraternity, we have mutually decided to shift the release date of our film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. New release date to be announced soon."
This film marks the eleventh collaboration between Ajay Devgn and Tabu, a pairing that fans eagerly anticipate seeing on screen as lovers. Director Neeraj Panday revealed that he was unaware of their off-screen friendship but believed they were the perfect choices for the roles. “Two years back, when we were figuring out our next theatrical release, the germ of this film came to me. It was there in some form in my head before that, but I didn’t actually sit down and write about it till two years ago. And Ajay and Tabu were my first choices. Having said that, I don’t know if it’s their friendship that translated onscreen because I know nothing about its background,” the filmmaker said.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is an epic love story that follows the lives of Krishna and Vasudha. Their young relationship faces numerous challenges, ultimately leading to their separation when Krishna commits multiple murders and is sentenced to life in prison. After 22 years, Krishna is released, and the story revolves around his final encounter with Vasudha.
Commenting on the success of Kalki 2898 AD, producer Sangeeta Ahir of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha stated, "It is good for us that the audience is back in theatres and happy days are back."
