Tahira Kashyap has recently made her feature film debut with her latest project ‘Sharmaji ki Beti.’ The film has released on Prime Video on June 28 and has been much praised by the audience. In a recent interview, the filmmaker was however asked if being a wife of the acclaimed actor Ayushmann Khurrana did give her an advantage.
Replying to the same, Tahira said, "There were many
temptations, but I stayed away from them.” Further adding, "I have to live with my conscience. If it had something to do with nepotism, I would have had a different career trajectory. I would have been making my fourth film now.”
Tahira has previously directed short films and been a co-director of several series. She is also an author and has published several books out of which some have been much acclaimed by the audience. She will next bring another feature film which will be produced by Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment which recently produced ‘Kill’ starring Lakshay and Raghav Juyal in the lead. The film is slated to release on July 5 and is being helmed as the most violent film of India. It will also mark the debut for Lakshay and is produced in a collaboration with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
Tahira married Ayushmann after dating him for several years and they have two children together. Tahira also shared about her experience of embracing motherhood in her books where she presented an honest opinion and her thoughts on the same.
