Shantanu Maheshwari is well-known for his dance performances but entered the big screens when he starred alongside Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. In an interview, Shantanu spoke about working with the actress and her kind gesture which helped him to gain more confidence to be working for the film. The actor was also lauded for his performance in the film by the audience and surely made an impression despite having limited screen space. 

He said that there was a seen where the cards were used and Alia asked the actor to teach her how to play the cards despite knowing it. Shantanu explained that the actress was just trying to make everyone comfortable at the set which was a commendable gesture. 

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film released in 2022. It also starred Vijay Raaz, Varun Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Jim Sarbh in the pivotal roles and bought Alia the ‘Best Actress’ award.  Before starring in the film, Shantanu has also featured in music videos. He will next star alongside Ajay and Tabu in a romantic drama ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’. The film was slated to release on July 5 but the makers announced that the release date would be reconsidered and the new date will be announced soon. The film will also feature Saiee Manjrekar alongside Shantanu. The duo will be portraying the younger versions of Tabu and Ajay in the film. 

On the other side, Alia starred alongside Ranveer Singh in Karan Johar’s directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahanii’. The film released in July last year and also featured Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan. She will next star in ‘Jigra’ alongside Vedang Raina. The film is slated to release in the month of October this year and is produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions.
