Ajay Devgn shouldn't have postponed Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha as Kalki shows run low, suggests trade expert Manoj Desai

Despite a humongous start Kalki 2898 AD is facing show cancellations due to lack of audience. The magnum Opus starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan received mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike. However, Nag Ashwin's directorial is running slow as film traders have confirmed low ticket bookings. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was supposed to be released on July 5, 2024 but the makers postponed it because of Kalki positive response. Now it is reported that they should have stuck to their initial plan.

Mumbai’s famous theater Gaiety Galaxy had to cancel Kalki 2898 AD shows due to lack of audience. The dystopian sci-fi opened to a collection of Rs 95.3 crore and has grossed over 700 crore worldwide so far. Executive director of Gaiety Galaxy, Manoj Desai informed Times Now that Kalki 2898 AD isn’t performing at cinema halls. He was quoted saying: "Well, the movie was going very well until now. I have a total of five shows, 3 in Gaiety and 2 in Galaxy, and they were all registering a high audience. However, yes, I couldn't run today's show kyuki public bahut kam thi. My halls are of a larger capacity. I need at least 30-40 people before going ahead with a screening.”

He further spoke about Ajay Devgn’s Auron Main Kahan Dum Tha which pushed its release date. According to him, they should have not taken this decision, as their film might have worked well when Kalki is drowning. He said, “I don’t think Ajay Devgn should have postponed his film.” Last week Kalki 2898 AD was running successfully despite loose narrative, acting and other elements that didn’t attract the audience, thanks to an amazing vfx visual extravaganza and Amitabh Bachchan’s stellar performance as Ashwathama.

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is a unique musical love story showing an epic romantic drama spanning 20 years and is set between 2002 and 2023. The love thriller stars Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Jimmy Shergill, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Sai Manjrekar. The film is directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by NH Studios.
