One such moment involves Ranveer's dedication to his role in the 2015 film Bajirao Mastani, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actor, known for his immersive acting techniques, made an unusual request on set: he asked everyone to call him Bajirao, the character he was portraying.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have shared the screen in multiple films, their on-screen chemistry culminating in Bajirao Mastani, a film that showcased their powerful performances and deep connection. During an interaction with the media, Deepika, expecting her first child, revealed Ranveer's 'bizarre' but effective request.

Reflecting on this during a past interview with Rediff, Ranveer admitted that the request, while odd, was integral to his process. "It really helped," he said, emphasizing the challenges of embodying such a distinct character. To fully become Bajirao, Ranveer transformed his appearance, worked on his physique, and modified his voice and accent.

The actor described his routine on the set: upon arrival, he would spend about two hours in his makeup room, meticulously applying scars, eye makeup, earrings, and even a fake mustache to complete his transformation. This preparation was crucial, as it allowed him to fully immerse himself in the character.

Ranveer further explained that once he stepped out of the makeup room, he remained in character throughout the day. This immersion was so deep that being addressed by his real name, Ranveer, would disrupt his mental state and undo his extensive preparation. "Why are you reminding me that I'm Ranveer when I've done all this work to leave Ranveer behind and step into this distinctive characterization?" he exclaimed.

Currently, Ranveer Singh is busy filming Singham Again, an action movie directed by Rohit Shetty.
