The streaming platform Netflix announced the upcoming documentary film which would be made on the notable filmmaker Koduri Srisaila Sri Rajamouli better known by the name of SS Rajamouli. The documentary is titled Modern Masters: SS Rajamoul set to release on Netflix from August 2. Directed by Raghav Khanna, the film will be produced by Applause Entertainment and Film Companion Studios.
Monika Shergill, Vice-President Content, Netflix India called the filmmaker an ‘icon’ in her statement. She said, "S. S. The filmmaker has helmed several projects including ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR’ which have been massively lauded by the audience. He primarily works in the Telugu industry and has directed over 12 feature films up till now some of them becoming among the highest grossers at the box office. He has also been a part of scriptwriting for some of the projects. Rajamouli has been a recipient of several national and international awards for his commendable craft and was even awarded the highest award Padma Shri back in the year of 2016. His first film was ‘Student No1’ which released in 2001. The crime action starred N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Gajala and Kota Srinivasa. Rao in the lead and marked the filmmakers debut in the industry making him one of the most renowned directors in Telugu’s film industry so far.
