Vivek Oberoi says he ‘ended up becoming active businessman’ when films didn’t work

Vivek Oberoi has been a rising star at a point but due to some controversial issues, he was dismissed from the films again and again and at a point stopped getting work at all. Despite some of his notable performances, the actor couldn’t get back on the track due to the lack of opportunities and in a recent interview recalled how he decided to sideline acting as he understood he won’t be making his entire career at it.

The actor also spoke how the financial difficulties arose later after the conflicts and he had to take incharge of his financial status in order to ensure the things aren’t  falling out of his hands. The actor also mentioned that he began earning at an early age and would try to invest his money.

He said, "Once I started earning more I started investing in stock market, I trained with
brokers for that. I started my stock market portfolio when I was 16-17 (years old). Then I did some commodity trading. I was 19 when I first set up my business in Whitefield, Bangalore. I sold my stake at 21 and went to New York for further studies."

"I returned and became an actor,
Company happened, Saathiya happened. Life was good, but I always wanted to start as an investor. However I ended up becoming an active businessman. It helped me."

Further mentioning, "When I started struggling in Bollywood,
when I started facing difficulties even after being a successful actor… I was facing challenges even after proving my skills, there was a different kind of pressure when I wasn't getting offered any films. That was my source of income. I was running my house, charitable foundation with the money I earned through my business and acting in movies, doing events and making appearances, I paid my staff with it too.” He also shared about investing in over 29 different companies throughout.

Vivek recently starred in Rohit Shetty’s debut series alongside Shilpa Shetty and Sidharth Malhotra.
