Emraan Hashmi on his viral Koffee with Karan segment: I don't have a filter

Emraan Hashmi is all set for his upcoming show 'ShowTime' which is returning with its second season this month. During the promotions of the show, the actor was asked about his controversial rapid-fire round at Karan Johar's show Koffee with Karan which created many debates later as the actor was way 'unfiltered' during the segment.
Recalling the same, Emraan said, “I have an issue. I don't have a filter. First of all, just a disclaimer; I have the highest regard for everyone I spoke about in that Rapid Fire. It just so happened that the show's tonality has to be understood. Things are said in jest and things are said on a whim to win the hamper.” He continued, “Sometimes, you can rub off a few people incorrectly. There's a tonality of the show, and that's where we went with a certain way of just enjoying ourselves.”
The actor also spoke about the emergence of social media over the last few years and has admitted that it has become difficult to express anything as it becomes a topic of debate later. He said,  “Yes, you're right. In this particular environment, it has become so difficult to express things in the way you did 10 years back. Whatever you call it, a social media outrage, a certain woke culture; you have to prescribe and toe the line over there. I have never done that. So maybe I'm restrained in a few things.”
Further adding,“I will tell you this much, also in the way this show was, we were very clear that we can't go in such an extreme way to offend to a certain extent. The show was made probably 10 years back. The tonality will be slightly different. You have to keep in mind the tonality and environment when you're also acting or working on a show. That's important. Interviews, I don't know about that. I still wear my no-filter look.”

Prior, Emraan starred in Maneesh Sharma's film 'Tiger 3' alongside Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan. The film released in November last year and was a third sequel in the 'Tiger' franchise. The actor portrayed a negative role and was praise for his performance.
