Riteish Deshmukh is known for his acting and has been a part of several projects amongst which the majority has been of the comedy genre. However, he is now set to explore more genres and doesn’t want to rush by doing comedy again and again throughout.
He said, “I want a bit of thehrav in whatever I do. Comedy needs timing, but I want to explore different facets. Earlier, I would rush into comedy, but I don’t do that now. After my directorial venture, I have only worked on two projects.”
He also spoke about his upcoming project ‘Pill’ and jokingly said that at a point it felt as if he was taken back to the school days. “Raj [doesn’t just] give you a thriller; he also shows you the process. In Raid, he depicted the entire process of how a raid is conducted. Similarly, here, he shows the way in which my character and his team [expose the nexus]. We are used to exaggerated drama, but we’ve kept it as real as possible.” He added, “The climax was a 10- to 12-page scene. [Prepping for it] reminded me of school days when I’d stay up nights [to study]. In the morning, I gave the shot in one take.”
His latest project ‘Pill’ is slated to release on July 12 on JioCinema. It also stars Pawan Malhotra, Akshat Chauhan, Anshul Chauhan, Vikram Dharia, Hanish Kaushal. It has been directed Raj Kumar Gupta, Jaideep Yadav, Mahim Joshie. The actor will also star in the upcoming ‘Housefull’ franchise, ‘Housefull 5’ alongside Akshay Kumar, with whom he has worked in the previous installments. The project was announced last year and more details about it are yet to be revealed by the makers.
