After months of extravagant pre-wedding celebrations, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant finally tied the knot on July 12th in a grand ceremony at the Jio Convention Centre, Mumbai. The event was a dazzling affair, graced by some of the most prominent national and international personalities, making it one of the most talked-about weddings of the year.
The first visuals of Anant and Radhika’s heartwarming homecoming have surfaced, capturing the couple being welcomed with open arms. Isha Ambani, Anant's sister, performed the traditional tilak ceremony amidst cheers of joy from their loved ones.
A viral video from the wedding shows the newlyweds exchanging Varmalas (garlands) in front of their family and friends, with the divine song ‘Ram Siya Ram’ playing in the background. The couple’s relatives lifted them, adding a touch of playful joy to the solemn ceremony. Other videos capturing their pheres (seven circumambulations) and the exchange of vows have also been making rounds on social media, further delighting fans and followers.
Anant and Radhika's wedding is not only notable for its grandeur but also for its staggering cost. According to estimates by the Daily Mail UK, the total expenditure on the wedding, including pre-wedding festivities, is around USD 320 million. The pre-wedding events were equally lavish, featuring performances by international stars like Rihanna at the Jamnagar celebration, and the Backstreet Boys, Katy Perry, and Pitbull on the Mediterranean cruise. Justin Bieber also performed at the sangeet ceremony.
The wedding was attended by a host of Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and international stars such as John Cena, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Nick Jonas, and Priyanka Chopra.
Following the spectacular wedding, the celebrations continue with the Shubh Ashirwad ceremony on July 13th and will culminate in a grand wedding reception on July 14th, expected to be attended by top global celebrities.
