Audience applauds Akshay Kumar in 'Sarfira', slams 'Indian 2' as a letdown

Every Friday brings a fresh wave of cinematic releases, and today, July 12th, cinephiles face an intriguing choice between Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira' and Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2.' Both films, highly anticipated with their star-studded casts, have been the talk of the town. However, audience reviews on Twitter reveal that Akshay's "Sarfira" has emerged as the clear favorite, while Kamal's 'Indian 2' failed to impress.

'Sarfira,' touted as a comeback for Akshay Kumar, has received rave reviews, with many fans calling it his career-best performance. One enthusiastic moviegoer tweeted, "#SarfiraReview: A must-watch. @akshaykumar flies high with this one with his top-notch act (3.5/5). Please.... Ek baar dekho ye movie..... aapko ye movie rulaegi, hasaegi. One of the best movies in #AkshayKumar's career." Another review echoed the sentiment, "#Sarfira brings back ‘Actor’ @akshaykumar on screen with a bang. This is not just another true story but a hope to keep going in life, no matter what. The perfect balance of emotions, drama, and love. Surely watch this weekend."

Meanwhile, 'Indian 2,' a sequel to the 1996 film "Indian," starring Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh, failed to meet expectations. Disappointed fans expressed their dissatisfaction online. One tweet read, "Overall a Shankar movie spoof. I expected this to be a comeback of Shankar sir, but I think he should stop now. Enthiran ruined with 2.0, now Indian ruined with #Indian2. Apart from the technical aspects and uninteresting scenes, this movie feels like a 1 hr stretched to 3 hrs movie. With worst sound mixing. SCAM. Lyca should save their money and drop #Indian3 - Thembu illainga Kamal sir doesn’t deserve this. Bring back Vikram with Loki."

'Sarfira' is particularly special as it marks Akshay's 150th film in a leading role. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the film has captivated audiences despite Akshay Kumar being unable to join the celebrations. As reported by HT City, the superstar has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in isolation.

While fans of both stars flock to theaters, it's clear that 'Sarfira' has won the day, leaving 'Indian 2' struggling to keep up.
