Chandu Champion actor Kartik Aaryan reflects on controversies, “I think a lot before speaking”

Kartik Aaryan is basking in praise for his last released Chand Champion directed by Kabir Khan. The biographical drama of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar received positive reviews from audiences and critics alike. The actor delivered a career-defining role in 13 years essaying a real-life character. Being an actor it's not easy to stay away from controversies and on the same the Gwalior Boy has shared his thoughts and personal choices. Looking back, he got mired in controversy for having creative differences with Dostana 2 maker Karan Johar. 

In an interview with News 18, Kartik Aaryan said, “I’ve become very serious now. I think a lot before speaking. But people scrutinize that too. They say, yeh itna soch samajh ke kyun bol raha hai? I don’t like being associated with controversies or talking about them. And that’s not something new. That has been my mindset ever since I began my journey as an actor. I don’t enjoy my name being a part of any kind of controversy. That’s why I remain silent irrespective of the situation.” 

He further added, “I concentrate on my work and let that speak for me. And that’s the most important thing in my life. As for naap tol ke baat karna, what happens sometimes is, that I say things out of fun and that becomes a headline. Initially, I would end up saying a lot of things casually. Main kuch bhi bole deta tha. Then people started pointing that out. It’s a part of my nature. I’ve now consciously toned myself down a little bit.”

On the work front, Aaryan has an exciting lineup of upcoming projects. He will extend the horror comedy franchise Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 which will also star Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit. Next, he will star in Anurag Basu’s Aashiqui 3. On the other hand, he likely has a Sooraj Barjatya movie in the pipeline, said to play Prem in the movie.
