The much-anticipated trailer for Stree 2, the sequel to Amar Kaushik's 2018 hit Stree, is set to release on July 18th. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, the film has been generating considerable buzz since its announcement. Fans are eager to revisit the mysterious town of Chanderi and discover how Shraddha's character will make her return.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the trailer will debut on Thursday, July 18th, and will be attached to the theatrical release of Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk's upcoming film, Bad Newz, which hits screens on July 19th. While the teaser left much to the imagination, the trailer is expected to delve deeper into the plot and provide more insights into the film.
On June 25th, Maddock Films shared the teaser on Instagram, which begins with the inauguration of Stree's idol in Chanderi, bearing the text "O Stree Raksha Karna." The teaser featured glimpses of Rajkummar Rao as Vicky Parashar, along with his friends Bittu and Jana, played by Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee, respectively. Shraddha Kapoor's intense look added to the intrigue.
Pankaj Tripathi returns for the sequel, and Tamannaah Bhatia makes an appearance in the teaser. The caption hints at the chaos to come: "Iss baar Chanderi mein azaadi ke din hoga aatank!" For those who missed it, the teaser for Stree 2 premiered during the end credits of the Sharvari Wagh-starrer Munjya in June.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the fifth installment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Alongside the main cast, the film will feature special appearances by Varun Dhawan as Bhediya and Tamannaah Bhatia in a song. Reports also suggest that Akshay Kumar will make a cameo in the movie.
