Kill: Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment puts an end to South Indian remake speculation

The recently released action thriller Kill, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, has been met with overwhelmingly positive responses from both audiences and critics. Released on July 5th, the film is being celebrated as Bollywood's most violent action movie, earning accolades for its intense and gruesome scenes. Earlier the announcement was made that 87Eleven Entertainment, the production company behind the billion-dollar John Wick franchise, will produce an English-language remake of the highly acclaimed Indian action film Kill.

Starring debutant Lakshya, alongside Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala, the film has captivated moviegoers with its relentless action and gripping narrative. Following its successful theatrical run, it was rumored that Kill was remade in the South Indian language

Rumors have surfaced that two prominent Telugu cinema actors, Sudheer Babu and Kiran Abbavaram, have approached Dharma Productions for the remake rights of Kill. According to sources, the teams have initiated discussions to secure the rights. However, it's rumored that Karan Johar is itching to direct his own South version. For a very long time, Karan Johar has been itching to establish Dharma Productions in South India.

However, Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment have clarified through a social media post that only the English remake rights have been sold so far. The post stated, “Putting the recent speculation surrounding the remake of the film Kill, Dharma Production has confirmed that only the English remake rights have been sold. Indian language versions have not been acquired by any parties yet.”

As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding a Telugu or any other Indian language remake of Kill. Fans and industry insiders are eagerly awaiting an official announcement.

Produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga under the banners of Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, Kill has been lauded for its realistic portrayal of events taking place in Indian trains. The film's confined setting and relentless pace have been credited with providing an adrenaline rush, making it a standout in the action thriller genre.

Kill continues to perform strongly at the box office, benefiting from positive word-of-mouth and maintaining robust weekday attendance. The film is set to establish new benchmarks for action thrillers in Indian cinema, proving to be a solid hit among audiences.
