Kareena Kapoor Khan recollects about Harvard Summer School and reveals acting wasn't her initial career plan

Kareena Kapoor Khan, a celebrated actress in the Hindi film industry, recently opened up about her summer school days at Harvard University and revealed that acting wasn't always her first choice. Before making her film debut with Abhishek Bachchan in the 2000 movie Refugee, Kareena considered a career in law.

In an interview with The Week, Kareena reflected on her academic pursuits and her brief stint at Harvard. "I was a good student and initially thought I’d become a lawyer," she shared. "I took a summer course at Harvard, and I’m proud of that. It’s Harvard, after all—I’ve got a photo on that campus. I went through this weird phase thinking I’d be a lawyer, but the acting bug couldn’t keep me away."

Despite her early considerations of a legal career, Kareena was never pressured into choosing her path. She explained, "No one forced or pushed me into acting. My parents were supportive of whatever career I wanted to pursue."

When asked about being one of the highest-paid actresses, reportedly earning between Rs 10 to 15 crore per film, Kareena responded with a laugh, "I hope so! I want that!" She emphasized, however, that her choice of roles is driven by her interest in the character and the film, not financial gain.

"I choose films for the roles I play in them, not for the money," she said. Kareena feels she is at a stage in her career where she can contribute significantly to her projects, though she acknowledges the challenges of high-budget commercial films.

On the professional front, Kareena was last seen in Crew, alongside Tabu, Kriti Sanon, and Diljit Dosanjh. The film received rave reviews and was a box office hit. She is now gearing up for the release of The Buckingham Murders and has a role in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, where she will star alongside Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff.
