Shatrughan Sinha defends Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's wedding, says actress hasn't done anything 'against the law'

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's wedding was all over the headlines a month back. Initially, a report about the marriage surfaced but actors refused to confirm the same. However, they were often spotted preparing for the occasion and their social media posts also confirmed the same, the duo remained silent until the actual day. In a recent interview, Sonakshi's father Shatrughan Sinha which was upset with the wedding according to some reports, went on to clarify that his daughter hasn't done anything 'unconstitutional'. 

He said, "Logo ne kuch bhi kehne ki koshish ki (People may’ve tried to say whatsoever), but for us, the happiness of our children is paramount, especially that of our daughter. When we felt that she was happy and she would remain happy… After all, she hasn’t done anything unconstitutional or against the law. " He added, "So, I have been standing next to her like a pillar. In her decision and happiness was our happiness."

Zaheer and Sonakshi dated for several years before taking their relationship to the next stage. The duo also worked together in a  film 'Double XL' which released in 2022 also starring Huma Qureshi in the lead. Sonakshi and Zaheer tied the knot on July 23 in Mumbai in an intimate ceremony. It was further continued by the wedding reception which was attended by several Bollywood celebrities including Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit and Kajol. The pictures of the event were quick to surface on social media and became viral in no time. 

The actors also shared the posts from their big day on their respective social media handles. In one of the previous interviews, Zaheer also recalled how he met Sonakshi for the first time at the house of Salman during which they spoke for hours and knew that they are made for each other right from there. 

On the work front, Sonakshi recently starred in horror-comedy 'Kakuda' alongside Riteish Deshmukh.
