Janhvi Kapoor has expressed her strong views on situationships, declaring them a "retarded concept." During an interview with Mashable, while promoting her upcoming film Ulajh, Janhvi was asked if she had ever been in a situationship. She firmly replied no and elaborated on her stance: "It feels like a very retarded concept to me. It's either you like someone and you commit to them because you want to be with them and you don't want to share them or you are not interested, in which case you don't have time to lead them on into all of that rubbish. Mujhe yeh beech ka samaj mein nahi aata (I do not understand these middle segment). Jo bhi aap ladkiyo ko beech mein atkaya hein na, laath mar ke bahar nikalo (All the guys who leave you hanging, kick them and throw them out)."

Janhvi, who is currently dating Shikhar Pahariya, was most recently seen with him at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding celebrations. She opened up about her relationship during her appearance on Koffee with Karan last year. When asked by Karan Johar about three people on her speed dial list, she mentioned, "Papa, Khushu, and Shik.." before catching herself and reacting with embarrassment.

The actress and Shikhar are often spotted together, including frequent visits to Tirupati temple. They are reported to have been dating for a few years.

Fans can look forward to seeing Janhvi next in Ulajh, where she plays Suhana Bhatia, a young diplomat caught in a web of intrigue and conspiracy. Directed by Sudhanshu Saria, the film also features Adil Hussain, Meiyang Chang, Gulshan Devaiah, Rajendra Gupta, and Jitendra Joshi. Ulajh is set to release in theaters on August 2.
